Mary Elizabeth Bordeaux, “Betty,” was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. She loved going to Wrightsville Beach and being with family and friends. After her graduation from New Hanover High School, she had inspirations of becoming a nurse. She ventured to Baltimore, MD, and attended nursing school at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. It is here where she met the love of her life, Raymond Peter Srsic. After a brief courtship, they married on May 3, 1958. They were married for a total of 51 years.

Betty was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to their four children. She loved being a mother and cherished the times when she became a grandmother. She doted on the grandchildren every chance she could. She will be greatly missed by her entire family. Betty always thought of others and did things in her kind sweet ways. She would send cards to friends and family never missing a birthday or special occasion. She enjoyed doing needlework and having a cup of tea with her coffee cake. She was truly a special angel.

Betty is survived by her children, Karen Srsic, Peter Srsic, Elizabeth Conolly, and Rebecca Mobley. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah Staudt, Caroline Conolly, Erin Conolly, Rachel Carlson, Anna Marie Carlson, and Raymond Anderson. She also has two great grandchildren, Xander and Lily Staudt. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Benson. Betty is predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond Srsic; her older sister, Barbara Garrett; and her younger brother, William Bordeaux.

Her family referred to her jokingly as “Miss Daisy,” because of her love of daisy flowers, her pet duck Daisy, and when she was driven around town by her devoted son, Peter. When she was leaving a special occasion, she would often exclaim, “Tootaloo.” We love you and will miss you every day.

“Tootaloo Miss Daisy,” until we meet again!
